Welcome back to The Bray!

We are delighted to have been given the green light to re-open the inside of our lovely pub from 17th May 2021. There are a few things you need to know about how we will operate. We hope this will prepare you for what to expect on your visit to The Bray. We are introducing these precautions to ensure your safety as well as ours and ask that you assist us at all times and remain patient and courteous to our staff and other guests.

  • FACEMASKS ARE STILL MANDATORY at all pubs and restaurants. Please wear your mask until you are seated at your table, when going to the toilets and again when leaving the restaurant. Failure to comply will unfortunately mean that we cannot serve you.

  • REDUCED MIXING INDOORS, UP TO 6 INDIVIDUALS OR TABLES FROM A MAXIMUM OF 2 HOUSEHOLDS ALLOWED. (If you have a table already booked, we will contact you to confirm if you would like to move your booking outside where we have limited space in our marquee or if you would like to reschedule.)

  • We have a new marquee in the garden area with 6 tables and a partly covered terrace space with two patio heaters which is on a first come, first served basis. We encourage you to contact us directly when booking.

  • When booking online, please note that you can either book INSIDE FOR UP TO 6 INDIVIDUALS OR TABLES FROM A MAXIMUM OF 2 HOUSEHOLDS, or OUTSIDE FOR UP TO 30 INDIVIDUALS FROM MIXED HOUSEHOLDS. If you have any queries, please contact us directly to make a booking as we only have limited outdoor space. Due to social distancing we will only be able to serve to a certain capacity and we ask you to please respect this. Please contact us directly if you have any requests.

  • All tables can still only be booked for up to 2 HOUR TIME SLOT, so please arrive promptly and understand we need to thoroughly clean your table before the next guests arrive. Please allow time for parking as we only have a small parking lot and it fills quickly during busy times. Allow time to park in the village parking at the entrance of Shere and stroll down through our pretty village.

  • Please DO NOT MOVE OR JOIN TABLES or socialise or mingle with guests on other tables.

  • We are still offering TABLE SERVICE ONLY, indoors and outdoors. No-one is allowed to stand and drink or eat at the bar.

  • If you haven't pre-booked, please be aware we will be asking for your details at the door which will be retained for 21 days after your visit as we adhere to the government guidelines. Please be willing to cooperate otherwise our staff will refuse entry.

  • The NHS TEST AND TRACE poster is on display at the front of the pub. If you have the NHS COVID-19 app you can quickly and easily ‘check in’ to The Bray by scanning the QR code.
